Kernow Kino: Celebrate authentic representations of Cornwall on screen

posted in: Events, Film programming | 0

To celebrate C Fylm’s 10th birthday and Screen Cornwall’s Launching a Cornish Public Service Media programme, we inviting film exhibitors and communities across Cornwall to take part in KERNOW KINO, funded by the BFI Film Audience Network and UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

What is Kernow Kino?

A celebration of authentic representation of Cornwall on screen.

When is it?

Thursday 29th February – Tuesday 5th March 2024 (St Piran’s Day), with some leeway for fringe events around those dates.

Why are we doing it?

We are on a mission to connect audiences to content produced by local filmmakers that reflect the rich diversity of Cornwall’s language, culture, heritage and communities.

What will it cost me?

Nothing at all! The films are free to screen.

How do we get involved?

C Fylm and Screen Cornwall will cover the costs of licence fees for any Cornwall-produced content you want to screen.

See a list of feature-length titles we are recommending HERE.
See details of a 2-hour shorts programme we have curated HERE.

You select the time and date of screening and sell tickets directly to audiences.
You can offer screenings for free or charge your standard rates. Please bear in mind we want to keep this as accessible to as diverse a range of people as possible.

We ask you to include our branding on your promotional materials. We will help market your screening under the Kernow Kino banner across the region, including: listings on the Cornwall 365 platform; a full-page ad in the What’s On Guide; social media shout-outs and PR. We will also promote to our screen and creative industries networks.

You then just need to send us audience numbers after the event so we can report back to our funders.

How do I register?

Please email imogen@creativekernow.org.uk by Friday 2nd February 2024 if you can, or as soon as possible after this date to get involved.
