Celebrate the stars of a golden age of cinema with Scary Little Girls’ Salon Du Cinema. Two intimate evenings treat audiences to flirtatious cocktails, scene-setting live music, and risqué tales of the secret and scandalous…

Together we will explore how female film stars pushed boundaries, combining screenings of classic cinema with the sort of shenanigans you can only get away with in a Scary Little Girls salon. Expect a welcome drink, live music, special readings, fun and games in true Scary Little Girls style. Get curious about Hollywood icons Marilyn Monroe and Mae West, and unpick what we know, and what we think we know about these women and their films.

Marilyn Monroe – St Agnes Library, 18th July

On Monday 18th July, watch Marilyn Monroe’s career-changing Bus Stop at St Agnes Library. A turning point in Monroe’s career, she fought to choose her own role, and worked with her production company for the first time. In Bus Stop, Marilyn showed the world she was more than just a showgirl. Scary Little Girls’ Rebecca Morden will share stories, music, laughter, and readings to feed our curiosity about one of the most famous actors in history.

Mae West – Old Bakery Studios, 22nd July

On Friday 22nd July, see Mae West’s 1933 comedy classic She Done Him Wrong at Old Bakery Studios in Truro. Hear tales of her trademark wit, music and join in games as we learn more about her scandals, relationship with sex, and how she disrupted the system.

Tickets are Pay What You Can from £6 – £12, with free tickets available for carers. For more information, and to book tickets online, visit the C Fylm website: www.cfylm.co.uk
